While not as common as in previous years, kratom resin is still one of the most popular extracts.
he reason for this popularity is that it is fairly easy and inexpensive to make, and hence cheap to purchase.
For anyone looking to buy or make kratom resin extracts, it can be a fairly effective alternative to plain kratom leaf.
One of the best things about this extract is that it is reliably full spectrum, it is in fact so full spectrum, it even pulls the plant oils and chlorophyll out of the leaves, giving it its resinous consistency.
When looking to gauge the effects of kratom resin, it is important to note that the effects of the resin will tend to be consistent with the leaf that it is made from.
For instance, if you are looking to make this extract from a white vein variety of kratom, the effects will tend to be much more energetic and uplifting than if you were to make it with a red vein, in which case the effects would be much more analgesic and sedating.
However, because it is a full spectrum extract, it can carry some of the side effects that are found in the plain leaf from which it is made, such as wobbles.
Because of this, if you are looking to make a kratom resin extract with specific effects, make sure the plain leaf or plain leaf blend you choose fits the effects you want.
Otherwise, you can always buy kratom resin, though we suggest you look through reviews before deciding on a particular kind.
For anyone looking to make this extract, the procedure is fairly simple, similar to full spectrum kratom tinctures, and only requires a small amount of ingredients.
1. The Kratom
The first step when looking to make a quality resin is to procure a strain of kratom that fits the profile of effects you want from the extract. It is a good idea to start with a minimum of at least four ounces of plain leaf for best effects.
2. Blending
Once you have the plain leaf procured, you will want to pour it into a large glass jar, such as a mason jar. At this point, pour your alcohol/water on top of the plain leaf powder until submerged at a rate of 1 liter per 8 ounces of kratom.
3. The Extraction
Once it is submerged, you will want to tightly seal the container and shake vigorously for 10 or so minutes. Now for the fun part: place the container in a cool, dark location and let it sit for a week.
4. Straining
Once the jar has sat for a week, open the jar and strain the alcohol/water mixture now saturated with alkaloids into your glass cooking tray. At this point, you can either throw out the leaf material our use it for a secondary extract to ensure all alkaloids are used.
Once in the cooking tray, let the kratom alkaloid saturated water/alcohol solution evaporate — this may take some time.
5. Final Product
Once the solution has fully evaporated, you will be left with a gunky-gooey resin extract, which you will then scrape up with your razor. If the consistency is too gooey to work with, let it sit and evaporate for a bit more.
6. Storing
Place the kratom resin in a container of your preference. I suggest a glass tube, as it will make it much easier to get out.
By this point you will have a quality kratom resin extract which should to a large extent mimic the effect of the plain leaf it was made out of, but in much lower doses. Happy kratoming!
